John Lescroart’s “Treasure Hunt” is a thought provoking, slightly intriguing but calm read. The buildup and preface said that I was about to read “a nail-biting thriller and a coming-of-age story”. His opening “The day he found the body” was a hook. There were indeed glimpses of intrigue and suggested suspense. I did like the foray into culinary culture and will be trying truffle oil in the near future. I picked up a few insights into the organized charity mob’s goings on and I did garner new respect for what I believe to be true to fact, homicide detective logic.
