Happy Administrative Professionals Week!

Since 1952, the International Association of Administrative Professionals has honored office workers by sponsoring Administrative Professionals Week. Today, it is one of the largest workplace observances outside of employee birthdays and major holidays.
In the year 2000, IAAP announced a name change for Professional Secretaries Week and Professional Secretaries Day. The names were changed to Administrative Professionals Week and Administrative Professionals Day to keep pace with changing job titles and expanding responsibilities of today’s administrative workforce.
Administrative Professionals Week is April 18-24 with Administrative Professionals Day on Wednesday, April 21.

I'm Sniffing Glue :)
Calm down - it's all good! Great, in fact.
Coccoina Almond Scented Glue Stick is non-toxic, non-solvent, and acid free - AND it smells like an almond cookie!
I read about this online and searched high and low for it. I found mine at this wonderful store in Berkeley called "Paper Source." Be careful when shopping there, they have so many cute and unusual items that you could end up spending a lot more than you had planned.
Anyway, I don't really have anything to glue right now, but when I do, I'm ready!

Happy Tax Day!

April 15th is NOT my favorite day of the year. I always wait until the very last minute to file my taxes and I'm never expecting good news.
But, today, I got a nice surprise when I stepped off the train - I walked about 20 feet and was handed a free Iced Vanilla Latte from Seattle's Best and then walked another 20 feet or so and was handed a free Wall Street Journal.
Hey, that's about as good as it gets on "Tax Day," right?

Not the Usual Lunch Hour. . .

Since Spring has sprung and the weather is nicer (well, some days), I have decided to find some "new" ways to spend my lunch hour.
Most cities have at least one independent bookstore left (thank God) and if you're lucky enough to work in the Financial District, you can spend time with a good book at Alexander's on Second Street.
Today, I not only "accepted" their invitation to the noon-time author event, but I expanded my reading interests to now include - yes - Romance novels!!
I got to the reading a little bit after it started and was pleasantly surprised to find an "eclectic" group of people, including myself, there to hear and meet, Gwyn Cready. Her new novel is "Flirting With Forever." It's the story of art historian Campbell Stratford and a playboy named Peter Lely.
And if the author's "sample reading" is any indication of the book itself, I think my train ride home will be anything but boring!
